 FAQs

  • Brittany obviously has a history with gowns that grew into Dear Norelle. However, once she started sharing her photos with wedding dresses, women everywhere began to want to donate their gown. Most of the gowns are in rougher shape and require more love and attention than just a cleaning. To be her true self, Brittany gathers women in her community 3-4 times a year to gather and tear the gowns. She then hand dyes the scraps, and they are then used for quilt making, mixed media, packaging other products, and more.

Any gowns that are in better condition are saved for our magazine for photography purposes, or to be later donated at the end of the year to brides who cannot afford a gown for their wedding.

  • Yes. We don’t ever ask for gowns, but truly appreciate anyone wanting to donate. Because of this, Dear Norelle and Brittany Stuart are not responsible for shipping or lost dresses. All charges would be the senders responsibility. We also do not purchase gowns at this time. If you have a dress to donate, please be aware that if it is falling apart, has holes, or is majorly discolored, it will be repurposed. (PO Box info coming soon.)

  • Each year I open up commissions in our Dear Norelle newsletter. There are only 5 spots open per year and you can sign up through the newsletter when it is announced.

  • Not only is slow living a priority for Dear Norelle, but for our lifestyle and family life. Creating requires so much energy and space to be slow. We package and ship all in house, and outsource when we can. High quality and impact is important to us, and that requires time and patience. It allows us to make sure everything we do is the very best without rushing.

  • We wish that natural dyes could work with most weddings gowns. Due to most gowns being synthetic material, natural dyes only work on natural materials like linen, silk etc. We use Rit Dye and a natural PH soap to clean and set it all, then allow all of our scraps and gowns to hang dry in the Colorado sun. If a gown is naturally dyed, it will be stated as well as what it was dyed with in the product description.

  • We cannot accept returns but do want you to be happy with your purchase. Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your product with any issues.

  • All orders are packaged and shipped within 7 business days and will include tracking.  Please note that if you are ordering from outside of the US additional shipping charges will apply.  We are not responsible for lost packages due to incomplete or incorrect information.
